Fischer Named USCAA Women's Soccer Player of the Week
First such honor for Vermont Tech athlete in 2012
Newport News, VA - The USCAA announced the National Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the week of September 18, 2012 to be Vermont Tech's own Mallory Fischer (Fr./Jericho, VT)
Mallory had a stellar week both on the field and in net. She scored her second hat trick of the season, as well as adding an assist in a road contest against Pine Manor College of Boston, MA. The following day she then transitioned to goalkeeper duties, managing 11 saves and allowing just one goal from Yankee Small College Conference opponent Hampshire College. The Lady Knights took victories in both games, defeating Pine Manor 7-0 and Hampshire 2-1.
The honor is the first of 2012 for any Vermont Tech athlete, as well as the first for Freshman Fischer in her early collegiate career.
