Broadbent takes Second in Home Meet

Randolph Center, VT- Vermont Tech hosted its 4th Annual Invitational Cross Country running race last Saturday on a cool September morning. The Green Knights hosted seven schools from across New England and New York, many of whom raved about the scenic, but tough, race course. A new course record was set in the Women's 5k Race by Jessica Monzyk of Albany College of Pharmacy, who bested her time from 2013, with the winning time of 20:53:70.

Vermont Tech Freshman Rebecca Broadbent (North Dighton, MA), in just her second race of her Collegiate career, is starting a habit of setting new school records with her second place finish in a time of 21:43:77.  to
 
Albany College of Pharmacy's Juila Lindsay finished third with a time of 21:47:57 to help secure her team the overall victory with 28 points. Naval Academy Prep finished in second with a total of 34 points, led by the 4th place finish of Amanda Agana in  22:15:57. Finishing in third place was University of Maine Augusta with a total of 71 points, helped by Jocelyn Acheson rounding out the top five women in a time of 22:17:03.
 

Vermont Tech will host the Vermont State Meet on October 4th in Randolph Center.
