Men's Soccer Falls to Paul Smith's 3-2
Randolph Center, VT - In YSCC Conference play the Bobcats prevailed over the Green Knights 3-2, despite the home team out shooting Paul Smith's 16 to 10.
Three goals between both teams were scored with-in 4 minutes late in the first half, starting with Alex Roache of Paul Smiths, off a cross from Max Calderone.
Less than two minutes later Jordan Beauchemin (Essex Junction, VT) scored his second goal of the season for the Green Knights. Yohan Avila (Barre, VT) took the direct kick 25 yards out and chip it in to the box, where Matthew Brian (Colchester, VT) flicked it on to the far post where Beauchemin was there to put the ball in the back of the net.
Drew Rider also capitalized off a direct kick from 30 yards out putting the Bobcats up 3-1 late in the second half. The Vermont Tech soccer team showed determination as Joaquin Currier-Cube (Danville, VT) headed the ball into the back of the net in the 88th minute off a cross from Olivier Dunrand (Port-au- Prince, Haiti). But it was just not enough as time ran out.
The Green Knights will look to bounce back Tuesday when they face College of Saint Joseph's at home at 4:30PM.
