Second Half outburst pushes Pine Manor past Vermont Tech 2-1
Randolph Center, VT – The Vermont Tech Men's Soccer team took a 1-0 lead into the half, but two second half Pine Manor goals proved to be too much for the Green Knights.
Junior Joaquin Currier-Cuba (Danville, VT) scored the lone goal for the green knights in the 15th minute. Sophomore Ali Alzamanan (Saudi Arabia) crossed the ball to the far post, where Currier-Cuba was all alone and he collected the ball and fired it past keeper Oscar Estrada of Pine Manor.
The Green Knights held the Gators scoreless for the first 64 minutes of the game until Jahvar Gayle scored near post on a direct kick. Gayle scored his second goal and the go ahead goal of the match 4 minutes later.
Darian Calverley (Attleboro, MA) made four saves for the Green Knights, while Estrada and Dominic Douglas had a combined seven saves for the Gators.
Vermont Tech takes the field on Wednesday vs. in-state rival Lyndon State. Kick off is at 4:00pm
