Kipp leads Vermont Tech in First Meet of the year
Castleton, VT -
Freshman Trevor Kipp ran the second fastest ever Vermont Tech Men's Cross Country time in his debut meet Saturday at Castleton University. Trevor's time of 29:12 on the rolly Castleton course is just over a minute shy of the all time fastest time set in 2011 by Justin Newland at a meet in NHTI. Trevor lead his Vermont Tech team to it's first ever victory over Lyndon State with a 4th place finish ahead of Lyndon by 1 point. "It goes to show that every runner on the team has an important role to play. " Said Coach Dunkle. " I watched as Elijah Boucher and Alex Yaggy really stepped up and made the critical moves to make the difference" Vermont Tech's team this year is made up of all freshman, some who have never run cross country before. "It was a great effort, and is a good indication of great things to come" said Dunkle.
Trevor Kipp was voted by the team as team captain after the race.
