RANDOLPH FALLS TO JOHNSON IN STRAIGHT SETS
Johnson, VT – The Vermont State Randolph women's volleyball team faced a tough opponent on the road Saturday, falling in straight sets (17–25, 8–25, 10–25) to Vermont State Johnson.
Randolph battled early in the first set, putting up 17 points behind some strong net play, but Johnson's aggressive serving and balanced attack proved too much as the hosts pulled away late. From there, Johnson maintained control, limiting Randolph to single digits in the second set and closing out the match in three.
Anna McKillop was a bright spot for Randolph, leading the team with 4 kills and hitting .188 while also dishing out 3 assists. Deanna Heintz added 3 kills, while Jasmine Mooney chipped in one. Defensively, Randolph hustled for 25 digs, showing resilience despite Johnson's offensive pressure.
Service play was a challenge for Randolph, as the team tallied 7 service errors and struggled in serve receive with 20 reception errors. Johnson capitalized, racking up 20 service aces on the night to fuel its scoring runs.
