Lady Knights Defeat Fisher Falcons
Lockerby scores 4 goals
The Vermont Tech Lady Knights broke out of their mid-season scoring slump yesterday as they netted 4 goals in defeating the Fisher College Falcons by a final of 4-1.
Junior Ashley Lockerbgy (Enosburg Falls, VT) took complete control of the game played in East Boston scoring all 4 goals for VTC. Sophomore Kristen Gonyau (Glover, VT) and Freshman Rebecca Rossell (Cabot, VT), respectively, assisted the first two goals. Lockerby scored the hat trick by way of a direct kick, and then finished off her tremendous effort by hitting the back of the net on a penalty kick.
Senior Goalie Abbie Senesac (Williston, VT) only had to save 2 shots in order to secure the much desired victory for the Knights.
Fisher's record falls to 0-8, with their next contest coming on the road versus the University of maine Presque Isle on Saturday, October 8th. The Knights are now 2-10, and although Vermont Tech is on fall break the team will attempt to continue their winning ways at Paul Smith's College on Monday, October 10th.
